"...we believe that the social sciences and humanities are critical components of a 21st century education — and a sound investment in our collective future. They are part of the main act... Science is essential — but science alone cannot make the tough decisions that impact us as humans."

- Norman Augustine, former CEO of Lockheed Martin, and

David Skorton, president of Cornell University,

co-authors of "The Heart of the Matter"

We invite you to join us, and invest in the humanities. To paraphrase Steve Jobs: the coming together of technology, liberal arts, and the humanities results in making our heart sing.

We invite you to join us in investing in America's future.

We invite you to join us.  NEH and the humanities need your help. When today’s federal appropriations are adjusted for inflation, NEH’s annual budget has fallen back to its 1972 level.  With recent across the board budget reductions, private support is all the more important.

How you can help.  There are many ways you can help. The Trust is a 501(c)(3) charity recognized by the IRS and can receive gifts of cash, appreciated securities and property.  Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by law.  As always when making a charitable contribution or gift of appreciated property or securities, you should consult your financial adviser.

Every gift makes a difference.  All contributions are fully tax-deductible. With a contribution to the National Trust for the Humanities, you support the vital and inspiring work of the humanities.

Please join us.  Making a gift of stock securities is both simple and tax efficient. Gifts of appreciated stock may allow a donor to avoid a capital gains tax in addition to receiving a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of the stock.

If you would like to discuss including the National Trust for the Humanities in your estate, tax planning or make a gift of securities, or have any other questions, please email info@humanitiestrust.org.
